I became a therapist after more than 25 years in the legal profession, where I daily witnessed the tragic consequences of addiction, family conflict, and unaddressed trauma. Convinced there was a different purpose for my life than pushing broken people through an impersonal system that never got to lasting solutions for those outward symptoms of a breakdown in shalom, I went back to school to become a therapist. In 2019, I founded Shalom Therapy Services to help hurting people find real restoration to wholeness.
Originally from Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, I married my wife, Kathy (Gardner) Wingert, in 1988 and have since called Lebanon County home for more than three decades. Kathy and I are the parents of two adult children, Daniel and Katie, as well as a mischievous but lovable golden retriever, Henry.
